As a result of the survey conducted by
the DAKSHA team we came to know that the major problems in our locality are
road accidents, increasing heat and water scarcity.
We found that the lack of trees is the
the major reason for increasing atmospheric temperature and water scarcity. And
the major reasons for the increase in road accidents are ;
1 Overspeeding
2 Drunken driving
3 Poor road conditions
4 Non-adherence to basic traffic guidelines
and rules
Kerala stands 5th in the number
of road accidents in India. There’s one death every 4 minutes due to a road
accident in India, and Kerala’s average could be anywhere near ‘one every 30
minutes’. Statistics reveal that road accidents are steadily rising in
Kerala.
